Can anyone give me an idea of how RSI handles the use of IDL and
ActiveX?

We are currently writing stand alone GIS type software using Arc
Objects (I know taboo)for our clients. What we would ultiamtely like
to do is have a more powerfull prgram such as IDL linked in the
software allowing for realtime scientific analysis by the user for
data such as well borings and generation of data such as contours of
chemical contamination. Ideally, IDL seems to be a great choice for
this kind of work.

Has anyone had any experience in using IDL for this kind of work and
possibly know how RSI handles the licensing of such., i.e. would our
client have to have a full IDL license on every computer our software
package is installed on in order to use ActiveX?

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated,

DCF
