pie-shaped polar plot in IDL? [message #28031] Fri, 16 November 2001 14:57 Go to previous message

Greetings,

I am trying to create a pie-shaped polar plot (not a pie-chart),
such as in this figure:

http://tdc-www.harvard.edu/uzc/f6a.gif

I have searched this newsgroup and found a few scripts people have
written, but they generally create plots in 360 degrees. I need the
curved axis to subtend an angle of ~130 degrees, but need to also be
able to define/spread my own data range (eg 8hours to 18 hours) over
the curved axis. I hope this makes sense.

Has anyone done this, or know of a way of doing it in IDL? I'm not
that familiar with doing much other than the stock-standard IDL
plotting or
mapping routines.

Thanks,
Lisa
