I hope this isn't too easy:

Say I have an N-dimensional array and want to FFT only one of the
dimensions, M, say. What I'd like to do is:

fdata = fft1d( data, m )

I'd also like it to be general - i.e. 0<N<9 and 0<M<N.

I've started writing, but if it's already been done...
