I would uninstall any mouse driver and use the standard windows driver.

My Intellimice and an older logitec mouse paired with the standard Win2k
"PS/2 Compatible Mouse" driver version 5.0.2183.1 worked w/o problem in 5.6
beta. I haven't received my new 5.6 license yet so I can't verify this for
the shipping version :(

I would also report your problems to RSI as a "bug" so a more robust
scrolling implementation can be worked on. Same goes for the poster running
Solaris, although most on the list will tell you to ditch IDLDE and use
IDLWave/Emacs as IDLDE for UN*X has always been a little sketchy.
