Hi,

This may be something of a Newbie question, but here goes...

I am working for a company that uses ENVI extensively. They want me
to try to put together a program that will perform an operation on a
batch of files.

Now, my question is: Do I need an IDL license to develop this program,
or will it run a program that I just code in a text editor? If I do
need a license, do I need a license somehow attached to ENVI, or will
a separate license suffice?

The reason that I ask is that I am in the process of ordering an IDL
license and I'm trying to get a Node locked one, but my boss is trying
to force a Hasp license on me, that would force me to "borrow" his
dongle whenever I want to work on my own projects.

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Ian Chapman
