try:

in 5.4:

IDL> cc=complex(0,1)
IDL> if cc then print,'true' else print,'false'
false


in 6.0:

IDL> cc=complex(0,1)
IDL> if cc then print,'true' else print,'false'
true

potentially dangerous, isn't it?
