Variable name from string without EXECUTE [message #37507] Fri, 19 December 2003 06:45

I have a text file which has info about the keywords and values that
were passed to an IDL function/procedure to generate given output.

I would like to have an IDL procedure that can read the file, and re-run
the desired procedure/function, passing the appropriate keywords/values.

I would like to do this from an IDL_vm program, so that precludes the
use of EXECUTE.

Is there any way to do this without a-priori knowledge of the possible
allowed keywords that does not involve EXECUTE?

Thanks.
