RSI is pleased to announce the release of IDL 6.1.
This new version will be available for download from the RSI Web site after
maintenance updates have completed shipping over the next couple of weeks.
Some of the new features in IDL 6.1 include:
* Support for the JPEG 2000 compression format, enabling more efficient
storage and handling of large images.
* The ability to query SAVE files for their contents and selectively restore
individual data items or routines.
* Tab key navigation and keyboard accelerators for button widgets for more
efficient user interactions in IDL applications.
* OpenGL lighting model properties for Object Graphics polygons and
surfaces. These properties allow you to simulate materials such as rubber
and metal.
* Opacity controls for all IDL atomic graphic objects.
* A new add-on DICOM Toolkit for advanced DICOM read/write support (requires
a separate license).
* iTools enhancements such support for EMF and EPS output, easier command
line control of existing iTools, a way to define and apply visualization
"styles," a way to record and playback macros, the ability to view a
detailed audit trail, and iMap for working with geolocated data.
