Let them use GDL and put those programming talents to constructive uses
(improving GDL and making RSI work harder to keep up). Having been burned
in the past when good products (Macsyma) became unavailable, many people
are reluctant to get involved with single-vendor languages. RSI/IDL will
benefit from the larger community of people familiar with the IDL/GDL
language. RSI should be thinking about ways to make core IDL more open
thru community involvment in a standard for the core language, and
concentrate on adding value to their IDL product.
