If you want 1536 files, it seems to me you're permuting 16,16,6 - is
that right?

You could use something like:

i=indgen(1536)
i2=i mod 6
i1=((i-i2)/6) mod 16
i0=((i-i1)/(6*16)) mod 16
print,transpose([[[i]],[[i0]],[[i1]],[[i2]]])
