I've seen some commercial medical imaging workstations allow you to
draw a freehead ROI. Once drawing is finished the ROI is approximated
using what appears to be a Bézier curve. For example I might draw a
circle shape and this will be approximated by a curve with several
control points. The user can move the control points to change the ROI
after it is drawn.

I know that there are other ways to modify a freehand ROI after it is
drawn, but this way seems to be the most popular (At least for Nuc.
Med. and Ultrasound)

Is there any implementation of this in IDL?
