The development of linux ditsributions being what it is, I bought the
Windows version of the student distribution. Now that Ubuntu Dapper has
come out, I boot into Windows about one a week to do something since I
can run idlde under wine just fine. I just read the help files in Adobe
(the hyperlinks work fine, though the index does not). The preferences
menu works fine, but spawning dialogs inside of it, say to do things
like change the start directory or to alter the PATH variable locks it
up.

Does anyone have experience with issues like this? Were you able to
resolve it?
