IDL seems to run fine under emulation. You can find a few benchmarks
here

http://idl.tamu.edu/mac_bench.php

and if you search this newsgroup for something like "mac intel
benchmark", you will find a few other postings.

A few folks in my department have recently gotten Mac Pros, so I'll try
and run the benchmarks when I get a chance.
