I've been looking at the iTools multi-planar viewer (MPV). This is a
tutorial and macro file which is a part of the "iTools challenge". It
builds a visualisation so that you can look at the coronal, sagittal
and tranverse slices of a 3D image.

I want to use the viewer for medical images, but I have no idea how I
would go about solving the following problems with it:

* When the macro starts, there are a lot of things which pop-up and
disappear. How do I stop this?
* How would I make it so that clicking on a 2D slice would update the
3D position of the other slices?
* Would I be able to link the 3D position of this volume with a
completely different 3D image displayed at the same time?
* Is there a way to link the zoom, so that all 2D slices zoom with the
same scale
* Is it possible to hide the iVolume to save confusion for the end
user?
* Is there a way to link all the color palettes (*Link all* does
nothing)?
* The response of the visualisation is quite slow. Is there any viable
way to speed it up, should I use something other than macros for a
faster response?

My understanding is that this is too complicated to do in iTools and
that it is far easier just to code a MPV from scratch. Would I be
correct in this assumption?
