I decided to get IDL Analyst - basically, an IDL interface to a subset of
the IMSL library of routines. In previous posts, some folks wondered how
this differed from PV-WAVE. I don't know the corporate history of this, but
what is clear is that the IDL wrapper routines to the IMSL library in
Analyst are built on the PV-WAVE model, and have a copyright 2006 to Visual
Numerics, the folks who sell PV-WAVE. If you go to the Visual Numerics page,
you find that PV-WAVE is not supported on Mac OS X, however.
I'm still trying to figure out how to get Analyst to run properly on my
Intel Mac, but tech support will probably soon help me out with that.
