In my group we have been running with IDL with much happiness. RSI has been
very good to us in terms of pricing and support. There is one user in my group
who is adamant about IMSL, which we would not purchase in library form because
of the cost and the lack of need. He then heard about IMSL/IDL and is pushing
it heavily. I would like to here from other IDL users about this topic. I
have found out the following.

1) In order for this to work I need to purchase at least 6 copies.
2) IMSL/IDL support admits to being 8 months behind IDL
3) The cost (of course) is higher than IDL
4) There is no sharing of installed code/libraries between IDL and IDL/IMSL
5) Purchase of a maintenance policy to get upgrades
