I would like to invite IDL users to look at a WWW-based data
browsing and retrieval system for NSSDC's OMNI Space Physics
data that uses IDL to generate on-the-fly images of selected
variables and time ranges.

IDL is called via a Perl script and the output is written to a
GIF file that is referenced as an inline GIF image in a dynamically
generated HTML document.

NSSDC's OMNIWeb System is available from the URL:

http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/omniweb/ow.html

A paper about OMNIWeb will be presented at the upcoming
Third International World Wide Web Conference in Germany.
