Folks,

Andrew Cool points out an interesting study that compares
the remuneration of researchers in the public and private
sectors in countries around the world. We don't have it
too bad in the United States, but Austria, The Netherlands,
Israel and Switzerland are places you might consider
working. China is out, at least for the time being.
Check back in 20 years when they are on the verge of taking
over the world. :-)
