I'm new to this group and haven't seen any FAQ go by yet, so please pardon
me if this a well-hashed question:
My Centris 660av running MacX crashes periodically when I run idl. I'm
told that this is a known problem, but nobody around here knows any
details. Is there a work around? This is the only time my mac has failed
as an xterm.

It wouldn't be useful for me to get the mac version of IDL because I'm
writing IDL applications shared by our whole (unix-based) group, and we
have Unix IDL licenses, not Mac licenses.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.
