Hi all

problem:

IDL> a=make_array(3,3,3,2)
IDL> help,a
<Expression> FLOAT = Array[3, 3, 3, 2]
IDL> help,[[[[[a]]],[[[a]]]]]

% Only three levels of variable concatenation are allowed.

solution:

IDL> help,concatenate_arrays(a,a,3)
% Compiled module: CONCATENATE_ARRAYS.
<Expression> FLOAT = Array[3, 3, 3, 4]

you can get this function from
