Possible Bug in Axis Routine idl 3.6.1a [message #3840]

With idl 3.6.1a, I am noticing that calls to axis with keywords: xrange,
xticks, and xtickv that worked in version 3.5.? no longer do so.

Example:

IDL> i=indgen(10)
IDL> xr=[-3,10]
IDL> plot, i, xrange=xr, xsty=9
IDL> axis, /xaxis, xran=xr, xtickv=[-2, 1,5], xticks=2

produces an axis labeled with 2 and 5 at the endpoints, The call:

IDL> axis, /xaxis, xran=xr, xtickv=[-3, -2, 1,5,10], xticks=4

produces tick marks at -2, 1, and 5, but if you don't want tick marks
at -3 and 10 you are out of luck.

Comments and corrections greatly appreciated.
