I reported this issue to ITTVIS and a representative told me that the
observed behavior is in compliance with the information given in the
online help. He suggested to use an unmapped widget_draw to catch
keystrokes.

Quoting form the online help:
ALL_EVENTS
Set this keyword to cause the table widget to generate events whenever
the user changes the contents of a table cell.

And from table 25-15:
...
(3) ALL_EVENTS=1, EDITABLE=1 -> input changes widget contents: yes,
Type of events generated: all events
(4) ALL_EVENTS=1, EDITABLE=0 -> input changes widget contents: no,
Type of events generated: all events

But with reference to the first sentence events are generated only
when the user changes the contents. This implies EDITABLE=1, though.
So the statement "events generated: all events" in case (4) is
misleading in my opinion.

Having events generated (ALL_EVENTS=1, EDITABLE=0) in IDL 6.4 is an
undocumented feature then??
