You will have to get the corner lat/lon points from
the geolocation information in the HDF 4 file and
convert them to XY points using MAP_PROJ_FORWARD.
This will allow you to find the "boundary" XY values.
You can see how I have done this for netCDF files
in ndcf_coord.pro in the catalyst/source/coordinates
directory. In fact, if you want to write a
hdf_coord function, please do! :-)
