FINDFILE problems IDL 8 LINUX [message #74263]

Folks,

Is anyone experiencing problems with FINDFILE in IDL 8
on LINUX (Ubuntu)?

Every time I try to use it I am getting an "Error managing
child process" error, and it seems to be trying to open
very strange files:

IDL> a = findfile('addpath.pro')
IDL> %FINDFILE: Error opening file.
File: /home/david/temp/idl_tmp_9nunrQ
IDL> %FINDFILE: Error managing child process

Any ideas?
