Extracting cluster indices from a dendrogram [message #74387] Wed, 12 January 2011 09:59

Hello,
I am using the heirarchical clustering tools in IDL to cluster my
data, and I can follow the examples in the documentation and get a
resulting dendrogram plot just fine. But what I am really interested
is specifying a number of clusters and getting a list of which data
points are in each cluster. I can do this manually by looking at the
dendrogram, but I would like to automate it and just have the program
spit out a list of indices to the original array for each cluster.

Any ideas or tips? This seems like it should be simple...
