Folks,

OK, this is not an IDL question per se, but I know there
are some New Zealand readers of this newsgroup and I
am looking for information.

I am going to be in Australia in a couple of weeks
(on IDL business!) and I am seriously considering
a short trip to New Zealand with the idea of doing
a bit of trekking. Possibly on the famous Milford
Track. I would probably be in New Zealand about
the 18th of October.

I realize this is the very start of the trekking
season, so I wondered if someone could give me
some local information about conditions in that
part of New Zealand. Lot's of snow this year?
Too damn dangerous just now! That sort of thing.
Maybe other treks, just as beautiful, that would
be possible.

Thanks! :-)

David
