Is this a bug or is there a hidden clipping setting that I haven't found yet:

x = indgen(100)
e = errorplot(x, x, 2*x, yrange=[0,200])
p = plot(x, x, 's', yrange=[0,99])

The second one is a bit more subtle: look at the first and last data points; they are drawn past the plot frame.

If it matters, I'm on OS X (IDL v8.1). But it happens in both the Eclipse and X11 graphics windows.
