I'm not sure if this is a good place to post this but I have been having trouble with the workbench and thus far my IT department has come up blank. I currently use xquartz(2.7.4) to ssh -X in to my remote server from my mac (10.8.3) which has idl(8.0). I can run idl through the xquartz command line just fine with images displaying correctly and everything. However, if I try to start the Workbench, it will begin to initiate the program and then abort after it says

usr> idlde

packages: LANDSMAN TARA ACIS_ ACIS_CXC ACIS_MIT PRAXIS XRAY_PLANNING XRT_PASS1 XRAY_ASTROLIB WAVEFORM MARKWARDT UMSDSS TEXTOIDL WVT_BINNING
startup: ~/idl/my_startup.pro

Abort

I am not certain why this is happening. I know that others using Windows with the same ssh and putty can get the workbench to appear. I just appear to have some setting wrong. Sorry for the lack of specificity but I'm looking for any help possible.
