disk space allocation problem [message #5771] Mon, 12 February 1996 00:00

I'm working with IDL v4.1 on a Sun Solaris v2.4 system. I have limited disk
space so I set up my idl job to check to see if a file exists and if not
uncompress it, run the job, then compress it again, which works just fine.
The problem is that the disk space doesn't get released when the file is
compressed. It doesn't get released until the entire job finishes I use
spawn,'compress file' from inside an idl routine. Is there some way to get
the system to release the disk space after the file has been compressed?

Thanks for the help, Jean
