Widget tutorial does not write .pro file [message #7669]

This is my first attempt to use any newsgroup and my first request for
help from what I hope is the IDL users group.

Trying to learn widgets (under windows 95) and completed the tutorial
but IDL will not write the .pro file as the tutorial describes. Get a
brief error mssg saying that the file was not written. I want to
examine it to get familiar with the widget constrution syntax. Anybody
know what might be wrong. The .wid file is saved correctly
