Doh! (Replying to my own post too, double DOH!)
The more observant among you may have noticed that my problem was
in fact the fact that I can't spell properly. It does help if I use
'x' when working out x-axis scales and vice versa.
Agh. The joys of typing in new code in the very early morning (very very
late at night - morning is whatever the time is after you wake up in my
book).
The only mystery is why it took me (and two other people) so long to notice
it was a typo.
Sorry to waste anyones time with this.
