Read Microsoft FORTRAN binary format?? [message #8974]

I have some rather large data files that were generated (I believe)
with Microsoft FORTRAN on a PC using a FORMAT='BINARY' OPEN
statement. I would like to read these files on my Sun using IDL.
I do know the length of each record and which bytes correspond
to given variables. Can anyone tell me how I should approach this??
