Hi all,

I have a question about the dos window that appears whenever I use the
spawn command in a script. I would like for this not appear, so I tried
setting the "run minimized" property in idlspawn.pif, but it seems to have
no effect. If I double-click on idlspawn.pif directly, a dos box appears
minimized on the toolbar, but when I call a command using spawn in idl,
I get the actual dos window popping up, along with another message window
that flashes briefly and says "waiting for spawned commmand to complete".

Does anyone know how to get around this? I would like the spawned process
to execute "silently", so that the user is not even aware of it.

(I also set the "close on exit" property)

thank you,
Melissa
