Ooops, just recognized that. Pretty way of writing not backward
compatible code :-(

FVIW, I tested again (Solaris 2.4, IDL 5.0, XV) and its OK, too.
So it's really a problem of PSP (and obviously PowerPoint, as Dave seems
to have the same problem).
