I would like to make a poster-size (~6 feet long) print
in postscript using my HP 755CM inkjet plotter. When I tried
this using IDL version 4, the print would quit at 3feet,
right in the middle of what otherwise looked like a good plot.
I am going to try this again with IDL version 5.
Another symptom (with version 4 or 5) is that when I create
a small print that is 3 feet wide and only a few inches high,
the plotter interpreted the print to be 3 feet high and wasted
a bunch of paper. (the plotter can be set up not to waste blank
paper, but that is another matter).
I am sizing the print using the usual device commands, but they
don't seem to be working. Other programs (e.g. Adobe Illustrator)
can create postscript that will print 6-ft sheets.
Does anyone have any experience creating postscript prints
larger than 3-feet from IDL? Thanks.
