Actually, there _is_ a problem with IDL running under MS-Windows.
The built-in editor has a rather small limit on the number and
size of files which it handles. To make it worse, this limit
tends to decrease during an IDL session (memory fragmentation?)
so that a file which fit perfectly well at the beginning of the
session will later give an "Out of memory error". This extremely
irritating feature has been mentioned to the good people at RSI.
Hopefully it will be fixed in the next release.
